Who is eligible to claim?

Eligibility:

Course Synopsys

The objective of this course is to provide knowledge in the care of older adults to improve their independent skills. The course will be delivered through lectures, practical sessions, field works and visits. Assessments of the course will be done through continuous examination, practical examination, assignment and presentation.

Apply theoretical knowledge related to the ageing and rehabilitation in the assessment and management of the elderly.

Make critical decisions based on evidence in aspects of evaluation and rehabilitation of the elderly.

Apply appropriate assessment and rehabilitation skills assessment among the elderly.

Possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Social Sciences or an equivalent related field, recognized by the university senate. The degree must be a professional degree that qualifies the candidate to work in their respective fields. Course Synopsys

Auditory-verbal therapy is a recognised approach that has been shown to be successful in providing positive spoken language outcomes for children with hearing loss wearing hearing aids or cochlear implant. However, in Asia the number of professionals skilled in AVT is limited. 

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia through the HEARS centre offers the Professional Certificate in Auditory-Verbal Therapy to equip professionals involved in the management of children with hearing loss with knowledge and skills in AVT. This is the only program of its kind in Southeast Asia that is offered by a university. This program offers two AVT learning packages: The Clinical Package, which follows a structured group mentorship approach, and the Theoretical Package, designed for those who do not have or are yet to have their own clients.

The purpose of the course is to provide an exposure and knowledge enhancement regarding medicolegal aspects of healthcare practices. The course contents which includes introduction to medicolegal, issues and risk in medicolegal as well as approach in handling complaints are suitable for medical and healthcare providers, as well as other healthcare professionals and administrators working directly or indirectly in the disciplines involving quality of healthcare, patient safety and clinical risk management. The course will be delivered via lectures, case discussions, and forum session.

How will the classes be conducted?

Classes will be conducted in a hybrid mode. Most sessions will be held online via Zoom, scheduled at night from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, according to the programme timetable (not every night). Additionally, there will be one physical session at UKM, with the date and time to be announced.

Is attendance compulsory?

While attendance is not compulsory, it is highly encouraged for those intending to claim Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, as attendance records are required for CPD certification.

Will I get access to recorded classes?

Yes. All online sessions will be recorded and made available to all registered participants. These recordings can be accessed for revision purposes, particularly useful when preparing for assignments and quizzes.

Assessment consists of:
