Successful Workshop Recap – Flow Cytometry Workshop
FLOW CYTOMETRY WORKSHOP: PRINCIPLES, EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND DATA ANALYSIS

Written by: Dr. Nor Adzimah Johdi
UMBI and BioMed Global co-hosted a two-day Flow Cytometry Workshop on 30–31 July 2025, where 16 participants took part in intensive, hands-on training from sample preparation to data interpretation. The program covered core principles (fluorochromes, FMO/viability controls, compensation), panel design and experimental planning (marker selection, spillover, titration), instrument setup and QC (voltage optimization, maintenance, troubleshooting), and data analysis (gating, quality checks, reporting).

Participants left better equipped to design multicolor panels, operate and QC instruments confidently, and implement robust, reproducible analysis workflows. Thank you all attendees for your energy and engagement—we hope the practical takeaways accelerate your research, and we look forward to welcoming you to future UMBI events.
