UMBI’s Researcher at the 3rd Youth Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology held in Dhaka, Bangladesh

We are proud of Ts. Dr. Saiful Effendi Syafruddin‘s role as a resource person and speaker at the 3rd Youth Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 13-15 September 2025. The event was co-organized by COMSTECH – OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation, Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), and North South University (NSU), bringing together researchers from OIC member countries including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Malaysia.

Dr. Saiful delivered a talk on CRISPR/Cas9 technical challenges and the gene editing regulatory & biosafety landscape in Malaysia, participated in a Scientists-Students Engagement Session at NSU to share insights on cancer biology and kidney cancer research, and was also invited to speak at Jahangirnagar University on CRISPR/Cas9 technology and its applications in biomedical research.

What stood out was the vibrant research ecosystem and the remarkable quality of faculties and students across OIC members. This inspiring experience also provided the opportunity to proudly promote the cutting-edge research and state-of-the-art facilities at UKM Medical Molecular Biology Institute (UMBI).
