Latest Article on High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer from UMBI
We are pleased to announce another research publication on cancer from our institute. The article is from the Cancer Genome Research team spearheaded by Associate Professor Dr. Norfilza Mokhtar. The group performed molecular characterisation of high grade serous ovarian cancer using the multi-gene cancer panel, containing 50 most common cancer-associated genes, on a next generation sequencing platform. A total of 20 variants were identified in 12 genes. The TP53 was shown to be the most frequently altered gene in high grade serous ovarian cancer in our local patients. The paper is published in BMC Research Notes which is a Q2 journal with an impact factor of 1.41. This study was funded by the UKM Research University Fund (UKM-GUP-SK-07-19-203).
