CITRA UKM Students Visit UMBI

On 9th May 2025, a group of 12 students embarked on an educational lab tour to UMBI as part of the elective course CITRA: DNA untuk Kemasyarakatan (LMJJ1502). These students, coming from diverse faculties across UKM. This course brought together students with the same interest of the subject from the Faculty of Education (FEP), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Law (FUU), Faculty of Islamic Studies (FPI), and Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK).

The students were transported from UKM Bangi Campus to UMBI by The Malaysian Cohort van. The lab tour was expertly guided by Dr. Muhammad Irfan Abdul Jalal, who introduced them to the UMBI Biobank and The Malaysian Cohort project. The session was further supported by dedicated lab officers who assisted throughout the visit.

The tour offered the students valuable insights into cutting-edge biobanking and DNA research, enhancing their understanding of the course topics. Overall, the students found the experience both informative and enjoyable, enriching their academic journey in this interdisciplinary elective.
