UMBI Leadership Lecture Series No. 2/2022

On the 7^th of October 2022, UMBI invited Emeritus Professor Dr. Mohd. Ismail Mohd. Noor from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia as our distinguished speaker to give a leadership talk entitled “Four decades of research: A journey of ups and downs”. The talk was conducted in a hybrid format at UMBI auditorium with live streaming on UMBI Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/umbi.ukm/videos/1009229090475658/). In his talk, Emeritus Professor Dr. Mohd. Ismail shared his career path and experiences related to the research and development of nutrition, ranging from energy requirements, nutritional status and obesity. He also discussed the issues and challenges related to funding, research focus, collaboration and partnership, talent and skills, governance and accountability as well as research outputs. He concluded his talk by sharing his vision for future research and inspiring the audiences especially early career researchers to succeed in their field of interest.
