Robe Wearing Ceremony for UMBI Graduates

On the 31st October 2014, UMBI held the Robe Wearing Ceremony for the graduates. This inaugural ceremony for UMBI was held at the Auditorium and was also intended to show appreciation to the supervisors for this year’s graduating students for their never-ending efforts in guiding and supervising their students. Five UMBI students, 2 for PhD and 3 MSc, successfully completed their studies and will be receiving their diplomas during the UKM 42nd Convocation Ceremony.

The event was attended by staff members from UMBI and Cohort, graduate research students, and most importantly the family members of the graduating students. The ceremony began at 10.30 am with the singing of the Negaraku and the Varsiti Kita songs. This was followed by the announcement of the purpose of the ceremony and speech by the Director of UMBI, Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal. The director congratulated the graduates and their family members. He also acknowledged the contribution of the respective supervisors and gave valuable advice to the graduates, students and staff members. The students’ representative, Mrs. Husna Mohd Noor, who would officially be Dr. Husna the following day, also delivered a speech to express the students’ deepest gratitude to their supervisors, staffs, fellow students and also UMBI. The highlight of the ceremony was the robing ceremony. Both Professor Datuk Dr. A Rahman A Jamal and Professor Madya Dr. Roslan Harun took turns to gown the graduation robes onto their respective students.

As a mark of appreciation, the director then presented gifts and flowers to the graduating students. In return, the students also gave presents to their supervisors as token of appreciation for the knowledge and guidance given to them throughout their study period in UMBI. The ceremony ended with a formal photo session with the management and followed by photo sessions with the rest of the audience including the family members. This was indeed a joyous ceremony to mark the success of the graduates and supervisors. UMBI is indeed proud of its high quality graduates. Congratulations! Houston personals are always on the rise.
