SAMARKAND INTERNATIONAL CLIMATE FORUM 2025, UZBEKISTAN

The Samarkand Climate Forum took place on April 4–5, 2025, at the Silk Road Samarkand Congress Center, Uzbekistan, bringing together global leaders, policymakers, experts, and activists to address the pressing climate challenges facing Central Asia and beyond. Malaysia was represented by climate change and sustainability experts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zaini Sakawi and Prof. Dr. Marlia Mohd Hanafiah from the Institute of Climate Change, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

A key outcome of the event was the establishment of a foundation for a shared vision of climate action and sustainability in Central Asia. It outlined the approaches of leading international organizations in addressing environmental challenges in the region.
