Stakeholder Workshop on Assessing Urban Heat Islands in Southeast Asia Megacities
The Earth Observation Centre (EOC) has successfully hosted a Stakeholder Workshop and APN Regional Meeting under the project:
“Assessing Urban Heat Island in Southeast Asia Megacities: An Integrated Study of Land Use, Climate Change, and Heatwave Occurrences.”
Led by Head of EOC, Ts. Gs. Dr. Wan Shafrina Wan Mohd Jaafar and funded by the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research, the workshop brought together experts and stakeholders from Malaysia as well as from across Southeast Asia (Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan).
The event was officiated by Mr Ambun Dindang, Deputy Director General (Operations), METMalaysia, and was attended by representatives from government agencies, the research community, NGOs, and regional partners.
