Prime Minister Launched PPTC UKM

TASIK CHINI, 28 October 2016 – UKM added another feather to its cap when its Chini Lake Research Centre was recently launched by Malaysia’s Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

During the ceremony, he visited the PPTC Hydrology and Climatology Laboratories, planted a tree, interacted with the orang asli community and released fish seedlings into the Chini Lake.

Besides that, Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib also give certificates to schools and students for a programme organised by the East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECERDC) and gave offer letters to ECERDC-SIRIM entrepreneurs.

Also present at the ceremony were Pahang Menteri Besar, Datuk Sri Adnan Yaakob, UKM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali and Head of PPTC UKM, Prof Dato’ Seri Dr. Mushrifah Idris.

According to Prof. Mushrifah, PPTC UKM has been involved with the implementation of the Biosphere Conservation plan at Chini Lake since 2009.ukmnewsportal-eg
