Tengku Puan Pahang Deliver Keynote Address at UKM – IIC 2018

PUTRAJAYA, 22 November 2018 – Tengku Puan Pahang, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum AlMutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar AlHaj attended the UKM Integrated International Conference 2018 (UKM-IIC2018) to deliver a keynote address titled ‘Rowing Down Two Rivers’.

In her speech, the ‘Rowing Down Two Rivers’ epitomizes the mixture of simplicity and complexity of her role as the women icon for the women in Pahang.

“The two rivers converging downstream reflect not only my pleasure, appreciation and struggle into the hearts and minds of my people, but also to what extent my own heart and mind are ready to cross my people. The journey to reach out to the community cannot be denied. They are my source of energy and passion, ” she said.

She added that paddling the two rivers eventually led her to share consciousness with the people of Pahang.

“Building my sensitivity as their icon, I am responsible for forming the heart and mind of my people,” she explained.

At the conference, Prof. Dr. Peter Robinson from the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom also delivered a keynote address.

The opening ceremony was officiated by UKM Pro-Chancellor, YAM Tunku Laxamana Dato’ Seri Utama Naquiyuddin Ibni Almarhum Tuanku Jaafar.The four-day conference has brought together 1,800 participants from within and outside the country that co-organized with other 16 international conferences in various fields of research.
