BANGI, 23 Mar 2016 – The National University of Malaysia (UKM) has improved its standings of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

QS Intelligence Unit head Ben Sowter said Malaysia had shown a marked improvement in all the QS rankings that it featured in.

“Three of these, which are all from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), make their debut in the Top 100 of their respective subject tables.

“They are Architecture and Built Environment; Education; and Social Policy and Administration,” he explained.

The list also showed UKM among the Top 200 for Chemical Engineering and Media and Communication.

According to the QS rankings released recently, UKM is among the top three in Malaysia for 22 subjects and the top 200 in the world for 14 subjects.

“Overall, Malaysian institutions have taken a solid stride forward in the rankings this year and a key common stimulus seems to have been stronger international research performance,” he added.
