UKM-OUEL Promotes Importance of Conserving Environment

BANGI, 23 March 2017 – In fostering and promoting the love for nature and enviroment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through collaboration with Osaka University of Economics and Law (OUEL), organised a mobility program, UKM-OUEL: We Love We Care, recently.

UKM-OUEL Mobility Program Project Director, Mohamad Kamarudin Aznor said the mobility program this year was held on 21st March in conjunction with The International Forest Day 2017 and is aimed to promote environment preservation and conservation.

“Therefore, in conjunction with The International Forest Day 2017, we decided to organize the tree-planting activities as the main event,” he said.

He said a total of 35 sites around the faculty buildings have been prepared by the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment (FKAB) to be used for tree planting activities.

He added that the UKM-OUEL mobility program that they organized, is different compared to the normal mobility programs offered in UKM.

“The students chosen for this programmes did not have to go through interviews but instead were volunteers who were concerned about the environment,” he explained.

He added  that the selection of students coincided with the objectives of the UKM-OUEL mobility program, which focuses on social and environmental aspects.
