Institute Of Visual Informatics UKM To Use Cyber Multimedia Facilities

BANGI, 12 Dec 2012 – The National University of Malaysia (UKM) and CoRE Expert Systems Sendirian Berhad have signed a memorandum of understanding allowing its Institute of Visual Informatics (IVI) to use CoRE’s cyber multimedia facilities for its research.

UKM was represented by the Director of the Institute of Visual Informatics (IVI), Professor Dato’ Dr Halimah Badioze Zaman and CoRE by its Executive Director, Tajul Zaid Tajuddin.

The signing was witnessed by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Students and Alumni Affairs), Prof Ir Dr Othman A. Karim and CoRE’s Principal Consultant, Dr Ahmad Azlan.

The signing ceremony was held during the launch of the two-day Malaysian Research and Education Network Working Group (MyREN) seminar.

 
The MoU allows the sharing of information and expertise between UKM and CoRE and is in line with the government’s move to encourage partnerships between educational institutions and the industry.

Prof Dato’ Halimah said the collaboration allows for research attachments of Fellows and Graduate Students from IVI at CoRE.

CoRE is expected to provide Cyber Multimedia facilities for tele-conferencing in various fields, such as live teleconferencing and recreational activities.

Some forty participants from local universities and various partner companies presented their proposals on the best ways of using cyberspace for visual information exchange at the seminar.
