2,513 candidates Offered Places For Undergraduate Studies At UKM For 2012-2013 Session

BANGI, 13 July 2012 – The National University of Malaysia (UKM) has offered a total of 2,513 places to STPM/Matric graduates for its undergraduate courses in the 2012-2013 session. Sixty percent of the successful applicants are females.

Of those offered places of studies in the 73 programmes, 50 in the sciences and 23 for liberal  arts, 861 scored the maximum Cummulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.00.

A statement by the university today said UKM along with other Research Universities which were accorded autonomy status were allowed to implement and select their own candidates for their undergraduate programmes.

Its implementation was, however, still through the centralised intake coordinated by the Recruitment and Admission Division of the Ministry of Higher Education.

Those selected for admission to the UKM undergraduate programmes must meet the minimum entry requirements (both general and special conditions) approved by the university Senate.

Candidates can check the status of their applications for admission from noon tomorrow, Friday July 13, 2012.

They can check the details of the offer and print the official offer letter via the UKM Infoline at the web addresswww.ukm.my/kemasukan/tawaran.

They need to confirm acceptance of the offer within seven working days that is on or before July 20, 2012.

The new students are required to register on Sunday, 2 September from 9 am to 12 noon.
