ASEAN University Network (AUN)

Founded in 1995 by ASEAN member countries including 13 universities, AUN is involved in the planning, organisation, monitoring and evaluation of AUN activities and also in the development of new ideas and the acquisition of funding

University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP)

UMAP is a voluntary regional association of government, non-government and/or university representatives of the higher education sector established in 1993 to enhance cooperation and exchange of people and expertise through increased mobility of higher education students and staff. UMAP has been endorsed by Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation and member countries are implementing UMAP projects.

UKM is the current UMAP International Secretariat for the term 2026 – 2030. We are looking forward to collaborating and expanding UMAP.

ASEA-Europe University Network (ASEA UNINET)

Founded in 1994 by universities from Austria, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam, ASEA UNINET’s goal is to promote the continuous internationalisation of education and research. Today ASEA-UNINET consists of 83 universities from 17 different countries.

The Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP)

AUAP is a platform and voices of universities in Asia and the Pacific and around the world. AUAP is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), holding the highest formal consultative status with UNESCO. Its primary purpose is to be the main platform for interaction and collaboration between members, and to be the effective voice of universities in Asia and the Pacific region. AUAP organizes regular conferences and workshops for higher education leaders and institutions in the Asia-Pacific region to discuss important issues and the challenges facing higher education. The association promotes and helps enhance mutually beneficial cooperation among educational institutions, and is dedicated to render such services to its member institutions.

The Association of Southeast Asia Institutions of Higher Learning (ASAIHL)

ASAIHL is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 1956 in Bangkok. Its aim is to assist member institutions to strengthen themselves through mutual self-help to achieve distinction in teaching, research, and public service, thereby contributing to their respective nations and beyond.

Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi)

The Global University Network for Innovation (GUNi) is an international network created in 1999 and supported by the UNESCO and the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP), which hosts its secretariat and presidency.  GUNi encourages higher education institutions to redefine their role, embrace this process of transformation and strengthen their critical stance within society. GUNi is a network currently composed of 227 members from 80 countries, which includes the UNESCO Chairs in Higher Education, higher education institutions, research centers and networks related to innovation and the social commitment of higher education.

The Tailloires Network

The Talloires Network is an international association of institutions which aims to foster higher education civic engagement. As of 2018 the network has 379 member institutions in 77 countries with a combined enrollment of over 6 million students. The network hosts conferences, produces publications on university civic engagement, provides financial and technical support to regional university networks, and awards the annual MacJannet Prize for university student civic engagement initiatives.

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO)

SEAMEO is a regional intergovernmental organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture in the region. SEAMEO aims to uplift the quality of education, science, culture and to promote sustainable human resources for a better quality of life in Southeast Asia through enhancing understanding and cooperation, providing a platform for policy dialogues, and promoting program excellence.

1. Send us the completed request form at least 2 weeks prior to the proposed visit date.
2. UKM Global Partnerships Team will send a confirmation email with the visit itinerary.
3. Visitor delegation may commit for travelling arrangement.
