Students with Disabilities

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is committed to fulfilling the rights and safeguarding the needs of students, staff and visitors with Disabilities (PWDs) in gaining full access to an inclusive learning system, work environment and campus life free from barriers and discrimination

Our Policy

For the success of this policy, UKM will ensure the implementation of the following:

  1. Manage the administration of students, staff and visitors with disabilities at all levels of university administration
  2. Provide access to buildings, infrastructure and services easily accessible to students, staff and visitors with disabilities
  3. Develop support services that provide an inclusive learning, work and campus environment
  4. Identify and eliminate discrimination against the disabled and protect them from any harassment and threats
  5. Creating a campus community culture that cares for the disabled

Learning and Examination

  1. Coordinate and monitor the learning process and examinations conducted for students with disabilities.
  2. Be a consultant for students and faculty to ensure an inclusive learning environment


Manage the transportation around campus for the purpose of:

  1. Faculty / Institute (Return Trip)
  2. Bus Station / KTM Commuter Station
  3. Official University Program


Coordinate and assist in the application of learning aid according to the suitable type of disability.

  1. Hearing aids
  2. Visual aids
  3. Laptop / tablet
  4. Walking aids


Assist students with disabilities to process the application and submission according to the prescribed semester


To plan and assist in activities that will helps to enhance self-development, marketability, career development of students and staff with disabilities

Facilities and Amenities

Coordinate the facility access and amenities to individuals such as:

  1. Route
  2. Toilet
  3. College room
  4. Office
  5. Daily needs

Emotional & Psychological Support

Support person with disabilities (PWDs) emotionally and psychologically or channel to the suitable centre

Feedback and Complaints

  1. Receive and process complaints from person with disabilities regarding various matters involving UKM.
  2. To be a reference centre for person with disabilities on matters related to UKM
