Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics​

The Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is a one-year programme (3 semesters) designed to enhance competencies in dietetics practice. Open to nutritionists from Malaysia and abroad—whether in service or newly graduated—the programme strengthens practical skills in catering services as well as patient nutritional care, particularly for individuals requiring specialised nutrition support in hospital settings. Graduates are prepared to contribute to quality dietetics services across hospitals, outpatient and community clinics, and may also undertake consultancy roles in nutrition and healthcare.

Dietitian positions in government and private hospitals, with opportunities to specialise in areas such as Renal, Paediatric, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases, and Supportive Nutrition;

Community Health Service Centres, involving diet planning for specific groups such as in Nursing Homes and Rehabilitation Centres;

Food Industry;

Academic teaching staff in Public and Private Institutions of Higher Education;

Freelance / Private Practice Dietitian.

Entry Requirement

Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.75, obtained from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any other university recognized by the Senate, and having passed an interview as stipulated by the faculty, in the following fields:
- Didactic (without clinical training), or
- Nutrition or equivalent
OR
Bachelor’s Degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.50 but below 2.75, obtained from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia or any other university recognized by the Senate, with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant working experience, and having passed an interview as stipulated by the faculty, in the following fields:
- Didactic (without clinical training), or
- Nutrition or equivalentÂ

The English language requirements for international candidates are as follows:
