Master of Mechanical Engineering

The Master of Mechanical Engineering programme is offered by the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering as a coursework programme. The programme covers core courses of the mechanical engineering discipline namely thermofluids, applied mechanics, advanced materials and processes. In these courses, students are exposed to current trends and issues in the field of study. Students are also exposed to research management and aspects of entrepreneurship.
Entry Requirement

- A Bachelor of Engineering degree with honours or a Bachelor of Engineering Technology degree (with CGPA of 2.5 and above or equivalent) from any recognized university OR;
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree or in related field or equivalent (with CGPA of 2.00 – 2.49) may be accepted, subject to thorough internal assessments OR;
- A Bachelor of Science degree with honours (non-engineering field) or a Bachelor of Technology degree (non-engineering field) with minimum CGPA of 3.00 from any recognized university OR;
- A Bachelor of Science degree with honours (non-engineering field) or a Bachelor of Technology degree (non-engineering field) with CGPA below 2.99 from any recognized university may be accepted, subject to thorough internal assessments OR;
Fulfil Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL A) for Malaysian candidates only:
- At least 30 years of age on the date of application
- Pass Diploma in the field of Mechanical Engineering or other related field, and the qualification is equivalent and recognised by the Government of Malaysia and approved by the Senate;
- Other equivalent qualification; AND
- Has MQA APEL with MQF Level 7 certificate
-English Language Requirement
- Minimum score of IELTS 5.5 or equivalent for any examination that has been aligned to the Common Europeon Framework of Reference (CEFR) as approved by the Senate OR;
- Letter of confirmation of academic qualification obtained using English as the medium of instruction issued by the University OR;
- International student originating from countries that uses English as the official language (refer to The International Academic Grade Guide. 2nd Edition)
