Bachelor of Islamic Studies with Honors (Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization)

The Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization program focuses on mastering the fundamental knowledge in Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization. This program trains students to understand the texts and culture of the Islamic world in terms of Arabic studies and universal Islamic civilization, encompassing various cultures and religions. The program emphasizes the study of religion, literature, linguistics, history, and Islamic civilization through reading texts in their original language. It focuses on issues in the field of Arab and Islamic Civilization and proposes solutions to these problems, as well as the application of knowledge and effective communication in Arabic. The courses in the Arabic Studies and Islamic Civilization program also serve as a method to help students conduct research in the original language and texts of major cultures and religions, which also contributes to enhancing their competencies that will serve as a foundation for research and teaching in advanced studies.

Entry Requirement
-STPM
Obtained at least a CGPA of 2.50 at the STPM level;Â
ANDÂ
Obtained at least a Grade C (NGMP of 2.00) at the STPM level in the following subjects:Â
- Arabic/Higher Arabic
- Usuluddin/Syariah; andÂ
Any one (1) of the following subjects:
- Syariah
- Usuluddin
- Bahasa Malaysia
- History
- Geography
- Communicative Malay Literature
- Economic
- Business Studies
- Accounting
- Information and Communication Technology
- Tahfiz Al-QuranÂ
AND
Obtained at least a Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for the examination starting in session 1 of 2021Â
ORÂ
Band 2 for the examination until 2020 according to the validity period on the date of application.
-STAM
Obtained at least Jayyid Rank in the Higher Religious Certificate of Malaysia (STAM);Â
ANDÂ
Obtained at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting in session 1 of 2021 OR Band 2 for examinations up to 2020 according to the validity period on the date of application
-DIPLOMA
Possess a relevant Diploma from an Educational Institution recognized by the Malaysian University and Government and have obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.70;Â
ORÂ
Possess a relevant Diploma from an Educational Institution recognized by the Malaysian University and Government and have obtained a minimum CGPA of 2.50 with one (1) year of work experience;Â
ANDÂ
Candidates are required to submit academic transcripts from Semester one (1) to the final Semester;Â
ANDÂ
Obtain at least Grade C/6C credit at SPM level in one (1) of the following subjects:
- Arabic Language
- Al-Lughah al-Arabiyah al-Mu‘asirah
- Turath Bahasa Arab
- Al-Adab wa al-BalaghahÂ
ORÂ
Obtain at least an average of Grade B (3.00) in Arabic Language at Diploma level;
OR
Obtain Grade D/E at the SPM level and have a Certificate of Arabic Language Proficiency with at least band A2 (based on CEFR- The Common European Framework of Reference for Language) or equivalent from an Educational Institution recognized by the Faculty (for applications through the Centre for Further Education & Professional Development, UKM only)
AND
Obtain at least Band 2.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting in session 1 of 2021 OR Band 2 for examinations up to 2020 according to the validity period on the date of the applicant
-APEL
MQA APEL certification certificate with MQF Level 6
AND
Obtained at least Level 2 (Band 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
