16 July 2026 | Cheras : The Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), has once again achieved a significant milestone by receiving two prestigious awards at the Sanjungan Kencana Awards 2026, held on 16 July 2026 at the International Youth Centre (IYC), Cheras.

In the Quality Laboratory Environment Award category, the Department of Anatomy was announced as the recipient, represented by the Head of Department, Dr. Fairus Ahmad, together with Mrs. Siti Norasikin Simon. This recognition reflects the department’s commitment to maintaining a well-managed, high-quality, and safe laboratory environment that meets established standards in support of teaching, learning, research, and service activities.

In addition, Mrs. Noor Zakiah Abdul Karim received the Department of Anatomy Website Innovation Award in recognition of her outstanding efforts in developing a modern, informative, and user-friendly departmental website. This initiative has enhanced the department’s communication and improved accessibility of information for the university community and the public.

These achievements demonstrate the Department of Anatomy’s continuous commitment to fostering excellence, innovation, and continuous quality improvement in line with the aspirations of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
