UKM SPKP obtained MS ISO 9001:2008 Certification

Bangi, March 1, 2013 – UKM Service Quality Management System  (UKM SPKP), formed in June 2011 has gained the certification of MS ISO 9001: 2008 for a period of three (3) years with effect from 18 January 2013 – 17 January 2016 for a combined 12 CR under a certification with  different scopes.

This merger is a cost cutting measures implemented by UKM as well as in response to the government’s call to spend wisely.

The UKM SPKP MS ISO 9001: 2008 Certificate has been presented by the President and Chief Executive Officer of SIRIM Berhad, Dr. Zainal Abidin Mohd Yusof, an event which was held on March 1, 2013. Also present at the ceremony were Vice Chancellor of UKM, YBhg. Prof. Tan Sri Dato ‘Seri Dr. Sharifah Hapsah Syed Hasan Shahabuddin, UKM Treasurer as SPKP Management Representative, Tuan Hj. Mohd. Abd. Rashid Mohd. Fadzil, CQA Director, Prof. Ir. Dr. Shahrir Abdullah, Mr Abu Bakar Maidin, Chief Librarian as SPKP Management Deputy Representative, Head of SPKP CR, Head of Quality Assurance (KJK PTJ SPKP) and the staff.

This success is one of the most remarkable achievements of UKM in an effort to improve the quality of service delivery  system to UKM customers. Appreciation and gratitude are conveyed to the former Registrar of UKM, Mr. Ab. Aziz Othman as the first Management Representative who has developed a sound footing for SPKP to achieve this success.

Hopefully this achievement provides a platform and inspiration to all CR in UKM to always maintain a culture of quality in rendering services to customers. This success is not a full stop, but rather a starting point to continue the path which is increasingly difficult and challenging, in an effort to make UKM as an Advanced University  ahead of its Community and Time,To Shape  a Dynamic, Knowledgable and Noble Society.
