The focus of my research is hydrogen production using photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting method. As known, the hydrogen cannot be mined as hydrogen gas on the earth. Hydrogen binds to other elements, such as binds with oxygen to form a water molecule. Extraction of hydrogen from water molecule using photoelectrochemical reaction is a green production method and ideal technology for the future, since the sunlight energy is abundant and available everywhere, and the method using low-cost semiconductor material as photoelectrode. Most of my research involves following fields: Synthesis and spectral characterization some transition metal complexes/ bimetallic complex with chelating dithiolenes and bipyridyl ligands; Preparation and characterization of thin-film, especially TiO2 2D & 3D structures; Photocatalytic testing for hydrogen production; Theoretical modeling especially Density Functional theory (DFT) method for bulk properties and molecular interaction mechanism.
