HEARS Center
Introduction
The HEARS Centre is a center of service excellence that plays a role in enhancing the hearing health well-being of the Malaysian community and the quality of life of individuals with hearing problems of all ages through services to individuals and families, as well as collaboration with relevant government and private institutions and agencies.
Efforts are focused on education, ear and hearing healthcare, hearing screening, early intervention toward optimal speech-language development, and increased community involvement.

To be the leader in hearing and speech excellence, empowering professionals and enriching the community.
Mision
To provide holistic, multidisciplinary community outreach clinical services and drive professional capacity building for global community sustainability.

HEARS Center Activities
Professional Certificate in Auditory-Verbal Therapy
- Held annually starting from 2021 until 2025
- Offers theoretical and clinical packages with fully online learning
- Collaboration with Cochlear Ltd.
Dangerous Decibels Instructor Certification Workshop 2024
- A total of 43 new instructors have been certified
- Overall, over 1000 industrial workers from seven countries including Malaysia have benefited
- Collaboration with Sime Darby Oils and Sime Darby Plantation
Special Interest Group (SIG-APD)
- A visit to the National University Hospital, Singapore (NUHS) was conducted in May 2025 to understand the clinical approach to patient management
- Exposure to service models and multidisciplinary collaboration in APD management
- An Auditory Processing Disorder Workshop was held in July 2025 and was attended by 40 professionals from various backgrounds
Hearing Loss in Children Campaign
- Collaboration with Yayasan Sime Darby between 2021 to 2023
- Targeted medical students from public universities and primary healthcare groups with the participation of over 500 participants across Malaysia

- Held annually in March
