Introduction
Bachelor of Occupational Safety and Health with Environmental Health (Honours) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) is designed to produce competent and industry-ready professionals capable of safeguarding workplace safety while promoting healthy and sustainable environments. It integrates the disciplines of occupational safety and health with environmental health to address contemporary challenges in worker protection, environmental quality, and public health. Through a holistic and multidisciplinary curriculum, students will develop the knowledge and practical skills required to identify, assess, and manage occupational hazards, as well as to evaluate and improve environmental conditions that impact human health. The programme emphasises the creation of safe, healthy, and sustainable workplaces in alignment with national and global health priorities. Aligned with the Programme Standard for Occupational Safety and Health (2023), it ensures that graduates are equipped with the professional competencies, critical thinking abilities, and ethical foundations necessary to contribute effectively to safer workplaces, healthier communities, and sustainable environmental management.

Entry Requirements
Matriculation/ Foundation applicant
- Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00 at the KPM Matriculation / Foundation level;
and
- Obtained at least a Grade B- (GP 2.67) in:
- Biology/ Physics (either 1)
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
and
- Obtained at least a Grade B- (GP 2.67) in:
- Obtained at least Band 3.00 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from session 1 of 2021 according to its validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released
or
- Band 5.5 in IELTS
or
iBT score of 46 in TOEFL
and
- Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty.
STPM Applicant
- Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00 at the STPM level;
and
- Obtained at least a Grade B- (GP 2.67) in:
- Biology/ Physics (either one)
- Chemistry
- Mathematics (M) / Mathematics (T)
and
- Obtained at least Band 3.00 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from session 1 of 2021 according to its validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released
or
- Band 5.5 in IELTS
or
- iBT score of 46 in TOEFL
and
- Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty.
Diploma or Equivalent Applicant
- Possess a Diploma related to the field of Occupational Safety and Health / Environmental Health / Equivalent Diploma from an Educational Institution or Ministry of Health (MOH) Malaysia College recognized by the University and the Malaysian Government,
and
- Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00
and
- Candidates must submit academic transcripts from Semester 1 to the final Semester
and
- Obtained at least Band 3.00 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from session 1 of 2021 according to its validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released
or
- Band 5.5 in IELTS
or
- iBT score of 46 in TOEFL
and
- Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty.
A-Level Applicant
- Obtained at least a CGPA of 3.00 at the A-Level;
and
- Obtained at least a Grade B- (GP 2.67) in:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
and
- Obtained at least a Grade C at the SPM level (or equivalent high school certificate/O-Levels) in the following subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
and
- Obtained at least Band 3.00 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from session 1 of 2021 according to its validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released
or
- Band 5.5 in IELTS
or
- iBT score of 46 in TOEFL
and
- Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty.
International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBD) Applicant
- Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma with a minimum score of 30;
and
- At least a score of 5 at the High Level (HL) for:
- Biology
- Physics
- Mathematics (HL)
and
- Pass other subjects at the Standard Level (SL).
and
- Obtained at least Band 3.00 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from session 1 of 2021 according to its validity period of 5 years from the date the test results are released
or
- Band 5.5 in IELTS
or
- iBT score of 46 in TOEFL
and
- Pass the test and/or interview set by the faculty.
