Introduction
The Biomedical Science Program at UKM is one of the first three programs that spearheaded the establishment of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences (FSKB) in 1992. This academic program has been accredited by an international body since 1997 through the IBMS, based in the United Kingdom. The UKM Biomedical Science Program is also one of the six pioneer universities in forming the Pan-Asian Biomedical Science Consortium in 2012, involving countries such as Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Thailand. It boasts a robust curriculum that is updated every five years based on the requirements of the Allied Health Professions Act 2016, as well as the needs of the industry and other stakeholders. Students have the opportunity to undertake diagnostic laboratory clerkships and industrial training both locally and abroad.

Program Requirements
Candidate with KPM Matriculation / Foundation Program
Candidate with STPM/ A-Level
- Achieved a minimum CGPA of 3.00 at the KPM Matriculation/Foundation level
and
- Obtained at least Grade B- (GPA 2.67) in the following subjects at the KPM Matriculation/Foundation level:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics/ Mathematics (M)/ Mathematics (T)
and
- Achieved at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1 in 2021 OR Band 3 for examinations up to 2020, valid at the time of application, OR Band 5.5 in IELTS, OR an iBT score of 46 in TOEFL, OR Band 5 in the Higher Education English Test (HEET), OR equivalent qualifications;
and
- Passed the tests and/or interviews prescribed by the faculty.
Obtained at least Grade B- (GPA 2.67) at the STPM/A-Level in the following subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics/Mathematics (M)/Mathematics (T)
and
- Achieved at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1 in 2021 OR Band 3 for examinations up to 2020, valid at the time of application, OR Band 5.5 in IELTS, OR an iBT score of 46 in TOEFL, OR Band 5 in the Higher Education English Test (HEET), OR equivalent qualifications;
and
- Passed the tests and/or interviews prescribed by the faculty.
Candidate with Equivalent Diploma Qualifications
Candidate with International Baccalaureate (IB)
- Possess a Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology/Biomedical Science/or an equivalent diploma from an educational institution or a college under the Malaysian Ministry of Health (KKM) recognized by the University and the Government of Malaysia, with a minimum CGPA of 3.50;
and
- Candidates must submit academic transcripts from Semester 1 to the final semester;
and
- Achieve at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1 in 2021 OR Band 3 for examinations up to 2020, valid at the time of application, OR Band 5.5 in IELTS, OR an iBT score of 46 in TOEFL, OR Band 5 in the Higher Education English Test (HEET), OR equivalent qualifications;
and
- Passed the tests and/or interviews prescribed by the faculty.
- Obtained a minimum of 30 points overall in International Baccalaureate (IB) with at least score 5 on High Level (HL) for following subjects:
- Biology
- Chemistry
- Mathematics (HL)
and
- Achieved at least Band 3.0 in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations starting from Session 1 in 2021 OR Band 3 for examinations up to 2020, valid at the time of application, OR Band 5.5 in IELTS, OR an iBT score of 46 in TOEFL, OR Band 5 in the Higher Education English Test (HEET), OR equivalent qualifications;
and
- Passed the tests and/or interviews prescribed by the faculty.
International Candidates
General Requirements
- Complete 12 years of Primary and High School education; and;
- Obtain High School (e.g. Higher Secondary Certificate, Senior Secondary School Graduation Certificate, Tawjihiyah, Ijazah Sekolah Menengah Atas, High School Diploma)
and
• Meet minimum English requirement set by faculty
and
• Pass UKM interview (if required)

• Meet faculty specific requirements;
