UKM Climbs 104 Places in the 2026 UI GreenMetric Rankings

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) continues to demonstrate strong performance in the 2026 UI GreenMetric Sustainable University Rankings. UKM’s global ranking has risen steadily from 461st in 2023 to 319th in 2024 and 253rd in 2025, reaching 149th in 2026. This rise of 104 places in one year is the largest improvement in ranking among Malaysian universities.

This achievement reflects the commitment of the university’s leadership and the collective efforts of the UKM community to integrate sustainability into campus management, education, research and community service. Contributions from faculties, responsibility centres, researchers, staff and students have helped to strengthen UKM’s performance year after year.

In line with TEKAD57, UKM will continue to expand collaboration and strengthen the implementation of sustainability initiatives that deliver tangible results. This progress encourages us to go further in building a resource-efficient, resilient and environmentally responsible campus, while strengthening UKM’s contribution to society and the nation.
