Neon ZapinRobik@UKM

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) made history through the Neon ZapinRobik@UKM program, which gathered a total of 4,351 participants, earning recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) in the category of “Largest Participation in a Zapin Aerobic Program.”

The recognition was received by the Director of the Student Affairs Centre, Prof. Ts. Dr. Norinsan Kamil Othman, who is currently serving as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs, from MBOR officer Mr. Edwin Yeoh Tiong Chin.

The program was organized by the Student Affairs Centre, in collaboration with the Cultural Centre and the Sports Centre, blending the traditional Malay Zapin dance with modern aerobic elements and vibrant neon visuals. This event was one of the highlights of Minggu Apresiasi Watan (MAW).

A total of 30 instructors, comprising staff and students, led the aerobic session featuring 16 Zapin songs, lasting more than 30 minutes.

The event also witnessed the launch of the online booking system for the Sports Centre, which will be implemented in three phases from October 2025 to March 2026.

The system is designed to enable more efficient, time-saving, and systematic use of sports facilities.
