Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has established an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee tasked with advising the university administration and governing bodies on policies, programmes, and training related to diversity, equity, inclusion and human rights on campus.
The committee is chaired by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Roslee Rajikan, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Strategy and Nationalism), and comprises senior university officers including the Registrar, faculty representatives, and leaders from key departments and institutes. The EDI Committee ensures that UKM remains an inclusive, equitable, and discrimination-free university, reflecting its commitment to respect and diversity across the campus community.
UKM also upholds a formal Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Policy, which applies to all staff, students, and stakeholders. This policy underscores the university’s commitment to equal rights, fair opportunities, and the elimination of all forms of discrimination in both academic and professional settings.
The committee plays a central role in implementing training programmes, awareness campaigns, and inclusive initiatives, including support for staff and students with disabilities while ensuring that decision-making processes are fair and unbiased.
