The numbers and quality of publications she published exceeded aspirational expectation of a young scientist and already meeting exceptional research performance of a senior researcher. She has a solid track record in securing competitive national and international grants. She is the PI (5 projects totalling RM510k), co-PI and co-investigator (21 projects totalling RM5.488million) for a total of 26 competitive grants totalling at an astounding RM5.998million (year 2013-2020). With 12 grants completed with publications and postgraduates as outputs, her excellent postgraduate supervision leads to 11 graduates (year 2017-2020) and currently supervising 10 postgraduates. Her leadership and achievements in Molecular Medicine and Genomics field have led to international recognition, evidenced by an upward trajectory on citations track, leading to a total cumulative citation of 1255 and h-index of 19. The high h-index and citations clearly depicted the impact of Dr Syakima’s research and indicating her leadership and expertise by scientists worldwide.
