Associate. Prof. Dr. Maizom Hassan obtained her Bachelor (1999), Masters (2004) and Ph.D. Degrees (2008) in Bioresources Science from the University of Tottori, Japan. After completing her studies, she was appointed as a Research Fellow/Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Systems Biology (INBIOSIS), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). Her current research focuses on the development of biorational insecticide for oil palm pest management by using integrated systems biology, enzymology and entomology approaches. Her other research interests are purification and characterization of several microbial and plant enzymes. Her research interests were manifested in 2 patents, 1 book, 1 book-chapter and 29 publications which include 22 publications in high-impact journals such as Plants, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry, Insects, Phytochemistry, Genes and PloS ONE.
