Eco-Campus Programme Promotes Sustainable Living at UKM KL Campus
Despite limited space in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FSK) through the Centre for Healthy Ageing and Wellness (H-CARE) successfully organized the Eco-Campus Programme to promote sustainable living skills and awareness.
The initiative introduced urban farming activities, healthy eating practices, recycling programmes, and creative projects using garden produce. Three urban gardens covering 6,000 sq. ft. have been developed with over 60 plant varieties, involving more than 100 students and staff—known as Eco-Campus Warriors.
Supported by student associations, staff, local partners, and UKM’s Sustainability Grant, the programme reflects UKM’s commitment to environmental integration in higher education and community well-being.
