5.6.2 – Non-discrimination policies for transgender
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) has a policy of non-discrimination for all genders as part of its Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Discrimination Policy. This policy is committed to ensuring equal treatment for all individuals, regardless of their gender or any other protected characteristic. Based on this policy, equality is guaranteed for all, ensuring equal rights, opportunities and recognition; diversity encompasses a wide range of characteristics, including gender, ensuring that all gender identities are respected and protected; and anti-discrimination measures explicitly prohibit harassment, bullying and violence, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. UKM is committed to fostering an inclusive culture, free from discrimination in education, research and employment, with specific protections that apply to all members of the university community.
