UKM Explores Collaboration with Breakthrough Energy to Advance Clean Energy Innovation
Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) hosted a meeting with the Breakthrough Energy team, marking the beginning of a potential collaboration in advancing energy innovation and commercialization. The session was chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Sufian Jusoh and attended by representatives from Breakthrough Energy, including Dr. Brenda Haendler (Director, Technology Management), Ms. Meghan Bader (Director, Recruitment and Selection), and Dr. Jane Zhang (Head of Southeast Asia/Singapore).
Breakthrough Energy, founded by Bill Gates, focuses on accelerating emerging climate technologies and supporting innovators through its global Fellows Program, which offers funding, mentorship, and strategic partnerships. The meeting featured presentations from the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI), Fuel Cell Institute, Faculty of Science and Technology, and Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, UKM, demonstrating UKM’s commitment to fostering impactful collaborations in sustainable energy research and innovation.
