The Paediatric and Adolescent Gynaecology (PAG) Fellowship at University of Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) provided one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. It was a thrill to be part of stimulating and supportive team of PAG unit. My supervisors proved to be highly professional and incredibly motivating both professionally and personally. At UKM, I thrived in a stimulating comfort zone and emerged with new interests, friends, contacts and research ideas. And as a bonus, I got the chance of exploring rich Malaysian culture, food and scenic beauty.
During my fellowship time, I learned the basic and yet important principles behind a good laparoscopic surgery from Prof. Dayang Aziz. I was also supported by my senior colleague, Dr. Marjmin Osman. The medical officers were very helpful indeed with the routine work. All of us were serious and so focused on our work but there was also relaxing time that we spent together. Up to this moment, Prof. Dayang is very kind to trust me to help as one of the facilitators in the annual laparoscopic workshop organised by the Paediatric Surgery Unit. It has been a real pleasure for me to be part of this fellowship programme.
I am Siruhan from Maldives, after I have completed my Internal Medicine specialist training in UKM in 2016. I have joined Fellowship programme in Endocrinology in July 2018 and currently in my second year of training here in HUKM. I have gained much core knowledge and learned skills necessary to work in the field of endocrinology via the exposure of variety of clinical cases seen in both outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. I have been exposed to a good mix of cases in endocrinology and am confident that I will be able to practice in the field of endocrinology after completion of my training. I had the opportunity in attending and presenting in both local and regional training sessions, courses and seminars and able to listen to the prominent speakers in the field of endocrinology from local and international institutions. It has been a great pleasure to have the brilliant team of consultants who provide utmost support and guidance. It has indeed been a real pleasure for me to be part of the fellowship programme.
I am Dr. Abdel Latif Khalifa Elnaim Ali a surgeon from Sudan 🇸🇩. I was honored and very grateful to have my post doctoral surgical training as a colorectal fellow in National University Of Malaysia Medical Centre. There was a preset well structured training program composed of hands-on supervised surgical training and continuous assessment of competence and confidence. There was a gentle but strict proctoring in all aspects of the clinical training process. The colorectal unit was very active in research production as a team, the group managed to write original and review articles with the guidance of the major trainer. Moreover I have participated in many national , regional and international conferences and involved in committees for workshops under the institute. For me this was one of the most fruitful and productive year in my surgical training, I recommended the training centre for many surgeons to join and get training in one of the best units with the best trainers
